Leaning toward preferred anyway due to ability to transfer profiles when you reload windows. Which version do you have, standard or preferred? I'd hate to buy standard if its missing needed items. This program is certainly not just for people with a disability, but incredibly productive for professionals, business owners, receptionists etc. When I'm having an instant message chat with them they have no possibility whatsoever of keeping up with me. That problem is now solved for me in fact it's quite the reverse with my able-bodied friends.
You talk about hating keyboard conversation, that hatred is enhanced as a quadriplegic and you therefore try to make your conversation as succinct as possible so you don't have to type as much. Most folks never come here until they have a problem with something.I assume you're referring to Dragon Naturally Speaking when you ask whether it works well? I only have Dragon naturally speaking preferred 10.1 and knowbrainer so I don't know whether this already exists in the professional version or not but to those with preferred I can recommend it. I haven't purchased it yet but I am considering buying it. This program puts an overlay of numbers all over the screen so you can select where you want to go and what you want to open. I always struggled using mouse Grid, it's not that it didn't work but to me it just was not very efficient.
Below is the website and there is a free 14 day trial so give it a go you might be surprised. I recently came across this program called ShowNumbers plus and I think it could be very useful for people with high-level quadriplegia in particular.
I just wanted to bring your attention to this little program I found whilst browsing the knowbrainer website which is where all the experts converse Re: Dragon Naturally Speaking, the knowbrainer software and other programs which enable speech recognition.
